Independence High School is located in the heart of historic Alpharetta, just 1 block from the square. It is conveniently located just off of South Main Street (Highway 9) which is serviced by Bus #85 on MARTA. Independence High School is housed within Milton Center, which is the old Milton High School. We have our own entrance way and offices in the front of the Center. Student Requirements for Independence High School:
- completed two years of high school
- at least 16 years of age
- completed at least 5 credits
- ability to read English at a 9th grade level or higher
- able to complete academic work independently
- mature and self-disciplined
- successfully complete an interview with an Independence High School Counselor

Steps for Roswell High School Students and Parents considering Independence:
- Contact Independence High School to schedule an interview. An interview does not guarantee admission. Applicants should continue to attend school until they are officially accepted. Independence will inform you of what you will need for the appointment.
- Once your appointment is scheduled, request an ‘Independence Packet’ from the Guidance Office. Your packet will contain a School Feedback form and official academic, attendance, and discipline transcripts. There is a 24-48 hour processing time to prepare Independence Packets. Be sure to note when your appointment is.
- After your interview, if you are accepted, the student and parent will need to officially withdraw the student from Roswell High School
